ABOUT: The elusive debut album of Toronto duo Ways featuring saxophonist Brodie West (collaborator of the Ex, Getatchew Mekuria, Han Bennink) and Evan Cartwright on drums follows after an appearance at the Newcastle Festival of Jazz and Improvised Music where they were joined by celebrated pianist Achim Kaufmann. On Fortunes they’re joined by a different European guest, Danish pianist and fellow Bennink collaborator Simon Toldam.
