ABOUT:

Launched in 2016 by musicians Daniel Áñez, Noam Bierstone, and Geneviève Liboiron, Montréal’s No Hay Banda has since situated itself at the forefront of experimental chamber music within Canada. Serving as an ensemble, a presenter, record label, and—crucially—an avid commissioner of new works, the collective unabashedly celebrates the present climate in contemporary composition, embracing the experimental  alongside the avant-garde approaches, as well as the eclectic, the electronically-mediated, the improvisatory, and the theatrical.  I had a dream about this place, is their double-disc debut, and brings together four long-form pieces from four of Canada’s most fascinating composers: Anthony Tan, Sabrina Schroeder, Andrea Young, and Mauricio Pauly.
